Determination of anisotropy parameters using seismic reflection method should be more accurate than the result of transmission method. In Thomsen transmission method, determination of anisotropy parameters requires certain angles of incidence, i.e. 0degree, 45degree, and 90degree, whilst the seismic reflection method applies all possible angles of incidence. We have developed the method for estimating anisotropy parameters in a vertical transversely isotropic ,VTI, medium from the reflected seismic data, i.e. using the equations relating anisotropy parameters to the propagation time of the reflected waves and the distance of source-receiver. The equations have been derived based on the reflected P- and S-waves propagation in a VTI medium ,one layer and weak anisotropy medium, so these equations used the assumption that the differences between the tangent of group and phase velocity angles of the reflected waves were approximately zero. Finally, P- and S-waves anisotropy parameters can be obtained from the value of polynomial coefficient on the related equations.
