Detection of Spatial velocity variation by dense linear array microtremors

Abstract
We apply the stretching method to the number of microtremor recordings in space. We performed the microtremor measurement using multiple linear array with multiple sensors along the survey line to collect as much recordings as possible effectively. We compute not only the horizontal-to-vertical spectral ratio but also the correlation functions such as cross-correlation, autocorrelation and single-station cross-correlation. The H/V and the waveforms of these functions showed a significant spatial variation. The velocity variation was measured quantitatively by using the stretching method that correlates compressed and expanded reference function with each function on the line. The velocity variation of the vertical component compares well with the variation of the peak appears in H/V. The reliability of the velocity change was confirmed by comparing the dispersion curves observed by the conventional array method.
