Trial Survey of Dual Source UHR2D Seismic System

Abstract
For a geo-technical survey in shallow marine area, we have developed a ultra high resolution two-dimensional (UHR2D) seismic survey system, which uses two types of seismic sources with different frequency bands by Flip-Flop method. A trial survey was conducted in Beppu Bay, Oita Prefecture, Japan in March 2020. We used a boomer and a mud-gun (small type air gun), as the sources, and acquired seismic data of a total of 39 km on 8 survey lines. After processing the boomer and mud-gun data independently, a merged section was generated. The merged section would be useful for interpretation that contain the feature of both sources.
