Development of airborne electromagnetics system using Drone - D-GREATEM, D-TEM [GLS], D-TEM [ALS] -

Abstract
Introducing innovative technology to visualize underground areas only by flight. It's no longer just a dream. Presently, we have developed an AEM using a drone. The key point for development was the weight saving of equipment loaded on the drone. 3 types of AEM systems have been developed in order to apply them depending on the survey depth and/or the condition of the survey site. The first system is D-GREATEM. It's appropriate for linear area surveying and requires a ground source. The second system is D-TEM [GLS]. It's appropriate for wide area surveying and also requires a ground source. The third system is D-TEM [ALS] using two drones with no requirement for a ground source. As a result of verification surveys, the resistivity cross sections of both the conventional electrical prospecting and the developed drone-AEM had good consistency. This paper describes these systems and the results of verification surveys.
