Improvement of inversion analysis software for labor-saving 3D electrical resistivity survey

Abstract
We have improved our resistivity inversion program for analyzing labor-saving electrical resistivity survey data. In order to simply generate a FEM mesh and resistivity grid model, which need to express complex topography and arbitrary arranged electrode positions appropriately, we applied Delaunay mesh discretization and adaptive mesh generation. Further, several improvements on program code were carried out by using OpenMP and some parallelized subroutines included in Intel Math Kernel Library (MKL). Through these optimizations, computation speed of the 3-D resistivity inversion increases tens of times in comparison with a conventional one using unparallelized modules.
