Development of the acceleration vibrocone and field experiment in the lower stream of Tone River

Abstract
AIST developed the vibrocone probe and carry out field experiments in 14 points along the lower stream of Tone river. Vibrocone detects increment of acceleration due to the occurrence of liquefaction at a depth of liquefaction layer. The comparison between the acceleration of vibrocone and FL value (liquefaction resistance factor) does not have a correlation relationship, however, the acceleration can separate two distribution groups. Also, we define the liquefaction layer ratio, which is the ratio of liquefaction layer in a total depth of investigation. The liquefaction layer ratio corresponds to the real damage of liquefaction, and the ratio has a correlation related to some part of PL values.
