Examination of an applicability of portable microtremor observation equipment for investigations of shallow subsurface structures in mountainous areas

Abstract
An acquisition of information about shallow subsurface structure is important to evaluate strong ground motion in point of view of site amplification. In mountainous areas, because it can be difficult condition to carry equipment for geological and geophysical surveys of shallow subsurface structures, we need a simplified survey method with portable equipment. In this research, we measure microtremor by various microtremor observation equipment inclined to the ground surface through array observations. Through comparson of the characteristics of recorded microtremor and estimated phase velocities among different equipment, we discuss an applicability of portable microtremor observation equipment for investigations of shallow subsurface structures in mountainous areas.
