Analysis of gamma-ray spectrum using sparse modeling in radioactive survey

Abstract
Radioactive method is commonly used for uranium exploration and fault detection. Also it is used for rock characterization by using spectrum peaks in gamma-ray spectrum. However it is very difficult to extract spectrum peaks from spectrum distribution in radioactive survey. Because such kind of peaks are embedded in noisy spectrum distribution in many cases. In order to overcome this problem, we applied sparse modeling to extract small gamma-ray peaks from spectrum distribution. The examples of extracted peaks in the case of simulated data and field data are shown in this paper.
