| | Abstract | | Post migration angle domain common image point gathers provide useful data about the sub-surface, such as seismic velocity and amplitude versus offset (AVO) information. However, the disadvantage of shot-profile migration, which is including to reverse time migration, is the difficulty in dealing with common image point gather. In this article, we tried to generate angle domain common image point gather during reverse time migration. Incident angle of seismic wave to reflector is calculated as a half of the angle between the propagation direction of shot wavefield and receiver wavefield. The propagation direction is estimated from special derivative and temporal derivative of pressure field. These derivatives are calculated while wave propagation simulation using characteristic curve method. |
