Terrain correction and gravity data format for regional gravity survey

Abstract
Geological Survey of Japan (GSJ) has compiled a database of gravity data throughout Japan and is publishing it on the web or DVD. And GSJ published 33 Bouguer anomaly maps in a scale of 1:200,000. The various correction methods of these gravity data have been carried out according to the standard procedure (SPECG 1988). Regarding terrain correction, which is one of corrections of gravity data, SPECG 1988 adopted the 250 m mesh data (KS-110) of Geospatial Information Authority of Japan. In recent years detailed DEMs are released both in the land area and in the marine area. We developed programs and formats to perform highly accurate terrain correction using these detailed DEMs.
