Effects of Construction of Soil-Cement Columns on Resistivity Measurement by Square Array Resistivity Method

Abstract
A ground improvement technique is effective for soft ground before constructing buildings and structures. But the judgement of reaching a rigid bottom layer is one of difficult problem in case of a ground improvement. In order to estimate geological nature, we try to measure resistivity distribution of a desired site. 3D numerical simulation of square array resistivity method was performed to evaluate effects of construction of soil-cement columns on resistivity measurement by square array resistivity method. As a result of some simulations, simulated apparent resistivity considering the effects of construction of soil-cement columns shifts to low resistivity.
