An application to iterative analysis for seismic tomography using blasting at tunnel face and stand alone vibration monitoring device (Atom)

Abstract
A seismic refraction survey for investigation of tunnel formation is improved by iterative seismic tomography measurement using blasting at the tunnel face as the seismic source and 24 passive seismographs (Atom) installed on the ground surface as the receivers. As the longest period, 9 days continuous waveform can be obtained by no-man operation using external battery. The waveform records keep high S/N in the most case. Reconstructed velocity section obtained using iterative measurement shows higher resolution than original velocity section obtained by seismic refraction especially in the deep formation.
