Development of an inversion program of marine TEM method using PSO

Abstract
Transient electromagnetic method (TEM) is an electromagnetic geophysical method in which electric and magnetic fields are induced by transient pulses of electric current and the subsequent decay response measured to understand the electrical subsurface structures. In recent years, abundant seafloor mineral resources around the Sea of Japan have attracted attention. One of the seafloor mineral resources is a submarine hydrothermal deposit. TEM method is currently considered for exploration of submarine hydrothermal deposits. Therefore, a new analysis program of TEM method was developed for the purpose of marine exploration. In this study, we developed an inversion program combining particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm.
