Study on factors of microseismic events following injection into a geothermal field using analyses of hypocenter clusters and seismic scattering waves


Abstract
A water injection test was conducted to enhance steam production in Okuaizu Geothermal Field for several months from July 2015. It is important to understand spatiotemporal behavior of the injected water for controlling reservoir system and retrieving steam effectively. In this study, we analyzed microseismic events recorded by 14 seismic stations located in the field for the purpose to estimate the water behavior. We employed three approaches
