Relationships between resistivity characteristics and mineral species of rock samples in the seafloor hydrothermal area

Abstract
The information obtained by geophysical surveys is limited, and further technical development is required. In this research, we focused on composite analysis using rock physics model. For development of it adapted to seafloor hydrothermal areas, we carried out the fundamental research about various physical properties and mineral species of rock samples collected from hydrothermal areas at the Okinawa Trough, Japan. In order to discuss the correlation between physical and chemical parameters, we adopted the equivalent circuit model to summary the electrical characteristics of samples. As a result of application of our new model for the samples, a positive correlation was found between parameters of the rock physics model and some mineral abundance. Quantification of this relationship is the future work.
