Comparison of Ground Vibration between Moving Source Excitation and Coordinate Phase Excitation using Simple Model

Abstract
In the numerical simulation of train induced vibration, types of excitation forces influence on the results. To improve the simulation accuracy, it is important to clarify differences of ground vibration by types of excitation forces. We compared two condition results using simple model which considers only cylindrical wave. The first condition is that we simulated ground vibration caused by moving source excitation. The latter condition is that we simulated ground vibration caused by coordinate phase excitation. As the results of the simple simulation, the attenuate value of maximum amplitude caused by moving source excitation of position-synchronized is close to that caused by coordinate phase excitation. On the other hand, the attenuate value of maximum amplitude caused by moving source excitation of vehicle-synchronized is different from that caused by coordinate phase excitation. Thus, under some conditions, the attenuate value of maximum amplitude caused by coordinate phase excitation can use as a substitute for that caused by moving source excitation of position-synchronized.
