Relationship between resistivity characteristics and chemical composition of rock samples in the seafloor hydrothermal are


Abstract
For development of a rock physics model in seafloor hydrothermal areas, we carried out the fundamental research about various physical properties and mineral component of rock samples collected from three hydrothermal areas at the Okinawa Trough, Japan. In order to discuss the correlation between physical and chemical parameters, we adopted the equivalent circuit model to summary the electrical characteristics of samples. As a result of application of our new model for the samples, a positive correlation was found between parameters of the rock physics model and some elemental abundance.
