Discussion on application of EM1DTM to airborne time domain EM data

Abstract
In the geothermal resource potential surveys conducted by JOGMEC, EM1DTM, a one-dimensional inversion package for time-domain electromagnetic (TEM) data developed by UBC-GIF, has been in use to generate the subsurface resistivity-depth images (RDIs) from the HELITEM data. This is to report the features of the 1D inversion method and the depth of investigation in airborne TEM surveys that we acquired through analyses by varying processing parameters. The inversion type parameter, which is to specify the way to determine the trade-off parameter in the objective function, has the most significant impact on the analysis results, and the type of the user-supplied fixed trade-off parameter value gave stable results. However, we also observed that the change trend of the resistivity was agreeable among different inversion options to the depth of investigation.
