UPDATED MAGNETOTELLURIC (MT) SYSTEM : REAL-TIME CONTROL, OPERATION, MONITORING, AND DATA FILING USING MULTIPLE REMOTE SITES

Abstract
Magnetotellurics (MT) is widely used for natural resource exploration and deep earth research. MT measurements are usually performed with multiple moving sites and a stationary remote site for remotereference processing to reduce noise. With a conventional MT system, measured time-series data are filed (usually every day) and processed in the office. The new MT system described herein can be easily deployed, set up, controlled, operated and monitored by a PC in remote office. It can stream and process data in real-time. Multiple field sites can be operated in real-time by a geophysicist from a distant ral office.
