Imaging and data compensation using seismic interferometry in Yamagawa Geothermal Field

Abstract
Recent data acquisition improvement such as introduction of cable-free recorder enable us to secure receiver points more easily even on difficult terrain. However, securing enough shot points is still a major problem in land acquisition, especially in mountainous geothermal field. Seismic Interferometry (SI) is a techniques to yield a virtual source on receiver position through a cross-correlation of two seismic records. We have applied SI to Yamagawa Geothermal seismic data to verify its effectiveness of data loss compensation. We found that even in difficult situation for SI, their image show good agreement with processed seismic data.
