Field experiments of the surface NMR in Japan: Part 2

Abstract
The second field experiment of the surface NMR has been conducted in Tottori sand dunes. We observed a decaying curve at a certain pulse moment that indicates a NMR response for the first time in Japan. As a preliminary result of the inversion with the full sounding curves, we expect that an aquifer exist at about 30m in depth. The estimated water content from the inversion is significantly lower than the typical water content in sand dunes, but the estimated water level is consistent with the water level detected by GPR as well as the water level measured at surrounding wells.
