GPR Survey at Onigaura tunnel tombs and 2-D simulation

Abstract
Sasaguri-Kyudainomori is located at the western part of the Experimental Forest of Kyushu University. Kyushu University and Sasaguri town controle and manage the forest park jointly. There are five tunnel tombs that are called Onigaura tunnel tombs in Sasaguri-Kyudainomori. Regarding No.2 and No.3 tombs, there is possibility that the tombs extend across the walkway surrounding the Kamata pond. The area has possibility of subsidence. Therefore, field survey was carried out around the tunnel tomb using GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) with 250MHz anntena, to determine the danger of collapse. In addition, 2-D GPR simulations were done to interprete the survey result.
