A study on the reflection seismic processing method applied to the data acquired by the VCS system and the Ocean Based Sound Source: In case of the Izena Cauldron hydrothermal area, the Okinawa Trough

Abstract
The hydrothermal mineral deposits are payed attentions as the new domestic marine mineral resources and the reflection seismic method with the Vertical Cable Seismic and the Ocean Based Sound Source (VCS-OBSS system) has been studied for the exploration of the hydrothermal deposits. On August 2013, the practical survey was conducted at the Izena cauldron in the Okinawa Trough. The data were successfully acquired and both direct wave and reflected wave are recorded by each hydrophone. In this study, the three-dimensional Pre-Stack Depth Migration (3D-PSDM) was applied to the VCS-OBSS data sets as the new processing method. As a result, the high quality 3D images were obtained successfully and the images were improved comparing to the conventional processed images.
