Field experiments of the surface NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) in Japan

Abstract
The first field experiment of the surface NMR has conducted in Tsukuba, Japan. Because of the high noise condition, obvious NMR signal has not been observed in the two test sites. The noise level of the first test site was far higher than the expected NMR response. However, the noise level in the other site could be reduced to less than 30 nV. It is comparable to the noise level of a site in France, where the surface NMR has been successfully done before. The results of the field experiments indicate that it is possible to apply the surface NMR in Japan if the water content is abundant in subsurface.
