Feasibility Study on Applicability of Array GPR for Structures Investigation

Abstract
Array GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar) systems which have more than two pairs of transmitter/receiver antenna are becoming increasingly common due to their efficiency afforded by multi antenna pair resulting in a reduced survey line. GPR has been used not only subsurface exploration but also structures investigation. In this paper, we discussed applicability of array GPR for structures investigation through field surveys in a real bridge and archeological site. As for bridge survey, we could obtain the information of asphalt thickness and position of rebar. As for archeological survey, array GPR could detect the anomalies implying existence of buried cultural property. According to both results, we concluded that array GPR measurement is applicable and effective for these applications.
