Preliminary report on marine seismic surveys in and around the western Yamato Basin

Abstract
We conducted marine seismic surveys using a multichannel seismic system and the ocean bottom seismographs in and around the western Yamato Basin, Japan Sea, since 2014. Revealing the relationship between the crustal structure and tectonic history is one of an important key in the research of the source faults in the Japan Sea. In particular, research on the crustal structure of the Yamato Basin contributes to the discussion of the source faults that formed in the southwest Japan Sea. We present an outline of the crustal structure obtained from preliminary results of seismic surveys in and around the western Yamato Basin.
