An application of frequency and time domain aerial source EM systems on landslide area

Abstract
We carried out aerial transceiver type airborne frequency(DIGHEM) and time domain(P-THEM) electromagnetic (EM) survey in the landslide area at the same time. The both systems have a magnetometer and, we also carried out airborne magnetic survey. The target area is mainly consists of Neogene formation. We applied both EM systems to understand the three dimensional structure. Ground time domain EM survey has already been conducted in the target area. The survey found existence of low resistivity layers at the deeper part. We calculated resistivity distribution and estimated 3D magnetic structure by inverting aeromagnetic data. The results of both airborne EM explorations show similar trend with the results of ground EM survey. In addition, from the plan view of resistivity, low resistivity parts correspond to the talus and fan deposition of Holocene and high resistivity part corresponds to the volcanic ejecta of Neogene and Quaternary.
