Apparent resistivity of airborne and marine TEM methods using coincident loop

Abstract
Transient electromagnetic method (TEM) is an electromagnetic method that uses a transient response after current shutdown of loop source. TEM method using ground loop source is usually used for exploration of metallic ores. Recently TEM methods using air and marine loop sources are carried out for wide area explorations of earth resources such as submarine hydrothermal polymetallic ore or geothermal reservoir. The new definition of apparent resistivity for airborne and marine TEM is proposed in this paper. The new formula of apparent resistivity was examined by means of numerical experiments of airborne and marine TEM.
