Three-Dimensional Structural Imaging in the Yamagawa Geothermal Field by using Reflection and Refraction Seismic Methods

Abstract
Reflection and refraction data analysis was carried out with the aim of understanding 3D structure at Yamagawa geothermal area. In reflection data analysis, we could improve the S/N ratio by adapting various noise elimination techniques. In addition, we adapted 5D interpolation technique in order to predict missing data, and could get better continuity of shallow events. In refraction tomography analysis, we could obtain a 3D velocity structure which approximately corresponds to the geologic interpretation of the area. The result of the tomography analysis was useful not only as a reference of the stacking velocity analysis in reflection data analysis but also as a supporting evidence of the geothermal structural interpretation.
