Crustal Deformation Monitoring of Mt. Sakurajima Eruption Using ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 Interferometry


Abstract
We estimated horizontal and vertical displacement value with more precision by using the vector composition analysis method of ALOS-2/PALSAR-2 bi-directional data. We also conducted time series analysis with high coherence images, and produced the stable time series profiles. The aim of this study was to evaluate the capability of InSAR analysis when applied to monitoring of crustal movement. The results of this study indicated that the method offers the possibility of early warning of the volcanic eruption.
