3-D inversion of gravity method using quantum annealing


Abstract
The gravity distribution on the surface reflects subsurface density structure. A purpose of the gravity exploration is to grasp subsurface density structure by using observed gravity distribution. Because the accuracy of the exploration greatly depends on the precision of the inversion, it is very important to develop numerical program to calculate density distribution. Therefore the development of the three-dimensional inversion of gravity method using quantum annealing (QA) was carried out. Although there is a lot of heuristic algorithm, QA method was employed because of its effectiveness in computation time. In this research, the algorithm of QA is showed and the examination about the weighting of observation data is carried out.
