Development of the resin gel casted MI magnetic sensor

Abstract
In the recent years, the importance of the hydrothermal mineral ore deposits is increasing for the new mineral resources. At Waseda University, the time domain electromagnetic method (TDEM) has been developed to apply to the ocean bottom explorations. In the measurement by TDEM, MI magnetic sensors is used to receive the magnetic field, due to the high sensitivity, wide frequency band width, compact shapes and low electric power consumptions. In the measurements at the ocean bottom waters, it is necessary to make the waterproof and pressure resistant equipment. The purpose of this study is to make simple MI receivers by using resin gel.
