Electric Survey of River Levee and Geotechnical Characteristics(2)

Abstract
Following the previous study at Kizu-River as well as Kinokawa-River, the electric survey was performed at embankments at Yura-river and Kiso-River. Soils at the four embankments were sampled. In the previous study, the intermediate soils are reported to show rather wider range of the electric resistance by field survey compared with the unified cone penetrating test in the field. Laboratory test to obtain relationship between relative saturation and electric resistance of soils. Intermediate soils show wide change of the resistance and difficult to identify soil type based upon only electric resistance. To identify soil type, it is necessary to perform some additional geotechnical borings in addition with the electric survey.
