3-D simulation of radiometric method


Abstract
Radiometric method is also used for detecting fault and hot spring besides uranium ore survey. In the case of fault survey, high gamma-ray anomaly is detected above a fault line in most cases. But opposite cases that low gamma-ray anomaly was detected above a fault line were reported. In order to interpret observed gamma-ray data, numerical simulation is important in additional to many case studies. A new algorithm to calculate gamma-ray intensity for volumetric radiation source is presented. Some examples of 3-D radiometric simulation are shown in this paper.
