Real-time prediction of Tsunami in the coastal zone, using Tsunami propagation effect -A numerical example for the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku earthquake-

Abstract
Recently, the networks of water pressure gauges have been installed in the Pacific Ocean floor around Japan (DONET1, DONET2, S-net). To predict rapidly Tsunami in the coastal zone where the depth of water is larger than about 50m, we proposed the method convoluting Tsunami observed in the sea area and Tsunami propagation effect by a small fault. Also, to predict Tsunami in the coastal zone where the depth of water is less than about 50m, we proposed the method using a small-scale Tsunami simulation based on the shallow-water theory. In this study, we investigated the validity of the proposed method for a numerical example of the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku earthquake.
