Three-Dimensional Gravity Structure Analysis in the Kawamata District (Quadrangle Series 1:50,000), Fukushima Prefecture.

Abstract
Gravity data and geologic map of the Kawamata district, Fukushima prefecture have been used to determine three-dimensional subsurface structure. The structure model is divided into five geologic blocks, such as granodiorite, Terasaka intrusive pyroclastic rock, Iwakura formation, younger granitic rock, diorite and gabbro. We have assumed the densities of the geologic block to be 2.55 g/cm3, 2.40 g/cm3, 2.45 g/cm3, 2.65 g/cm3 and 2.75 g/cm3, respectively. Efficient computer programs base on the two-dimensional subsurface density estimation program have been developed for calculation of the bottom height of the model. The estimated structure model corresponded with the geologically estimated subsurface section.
