| | Abstract | | Accidents are increasing in which the gas and water pipes or optical fiber and electrical cables are damaged by an excavation bucket. We propose a forward-looking radar of the bucket while excavation. We developed a Yagi-Uda slot antenna mounted on a metallic bucket. The antenna characteristics and radar applicability are evaluated through field measurements in soil. |
