| Abstract | In metal resource exploration, the induced polarization (IP) method is one of the geophysical exploration techniques indispensable to the determination of a drilling position. Therefore, in the resource search for overseas, the IP method is used positively. These days, the spectral IP (SIP) method that can acquire the more detailed information on metallic minerals contained in the rocks began to be applied. In Japan, however, almost all mines were closed and mineral resource exploration is no longer performed. Now, there are almost no university and research institution which do the education and research of the IP method, its engineers also decreased sharply. In order to verify the effectiveness of the SIP method, we did the demonstration experiment of the SIP method in the Kosaka area, Akita, where kuroko (black ore) was produced before. The resistivity structures and the distribution of frequency effects analyzed from the SIP data for each frequency were consistent with the geologic structure estimated by boring data. In this experiment, the influence of the kind of potential electrodes and the influence of various cable layouts were also evaluated using the newest SIP equipment. |
