Study on the Repeatability of the time-lapse seismic for the large-scale CCS demonstration project at the Tomakomai area

Abstract
JCCS, commissioned from METI, has been executed "the large-scale CCS Demonstration Project at the Tomakomai Area" from 2012. In the project, time-lapse seismic surveys are planned to image 4D response of the CO2 plume in the reservoirs. In 2013, 2D baseline survey was held at the Tomakomai Area. 4D noise such as tidal effect, ship noise or sea-floor loose sediment difference, must be suppressed for the time-lapse response extraction correspond to the CO2 plume. In this study, we tried to evaluate the effect of some procedures for the 4D noise suppression including tidal correction and coherent noise suppression, using the repeatability index.
