Structural features of excavated river levee clarified by electrical resistivity and S-wave velocity distributions

Abstract The resistivity of the levee and its excavated surface was confirmed to be different depending on soil types, but such tendency was not seen between S-wave velocity and soil types. Permeability coefficients obtained from D10, D20, Fc by grain size test showed values close to measured ones. Moreover, correlation was recognized between permeability coefficient and apparent resistivity on the excavated surface. Thus it was suggested that the resistivity could be effective to estimate permeability coefficient of the levee.
