Physical model experiments on vibration of unstable rock blocks by using Laser Doppler Vibrometers (Part 2) -Vibration characteristics of partially attached block models-

Abstract
The authors have been doing a study on evaluation method of rock slope stability by remotely-positioned Laser Doppler Vibrometers (LDV). We have conducted physical model experiments using gypsum block models partially attached to the stable base. As the results, we have found a relationship between vibration frequency and block stability. Although we have not yet revealed the quantitative criteria evaluating rock block stability so far, we are intended to continue the study until establishing a useful method for evaluating rock slope stability.
