Case study of resistivity monitoring for salt water tracer investigation

Abstract
When spring water is admitted in the downstream of the small earth dam, the clarification of the origin of the underseepage water is important. General investigations for this purpose are a comparison among change of amount of spring water, reservoir level and weather condition, and water analyses etc. In addition, it is necessary to clarify the hydrological flowpath of the underseepage water for the examination of the countermeasure. In this research, we conducted the resistivity monitoring by the repetition of the 2D resistivity survey together with the salt water tracer test using the boreholes, and tried the presumption of the salt water infiltration path from the resistivity change in the ground.
