| | Abstract | | A new technical concept is introduced aiming at to contribute to the Fukushima Fuel Debris Retrieval project. The concept, consisting of three technologies, Approach, Illumination and Visualization, is for probing the fuel debris which fell on or was buried in the base of PCV. A simulation study has brought an encouraging result for the concept, though it is anyway challenging. This concept is believed to contribute the Fukushima Fuel Debris Retrieval, if the various parts of concept including efficient drilling, adequate borehole geometry, energetic acoustic source, high-frequency sensors, sufficient coupling to ground motion, smooth conveyance of equipment, extension of inversion code to 3D, taking care of attenuation, etc., will be completed. |
