The correction method of the fluctuating offset of the seismic data, using B-spline curve

Abstract
We developed the correction method of the time fluctuating offset of the time series seismic data using the B-spline curve. In order to get the displacement seismic data, we apply the inverse filtering of the sensor response and calculate integral of the time series velocity data. The time series data by the applying and the calculation always have the time fluctuating offset. The offset often prevents the estimation of the signal on the time series data. We calculated the average values at a regular interval on the time series data, as the control points of B-spline curve. We need to tune the window length of the average value and the length of the regular interval. We could make the approximate curve of the time fluctuating offset, from the control points. The curve is a correction of the time fluctuating offset. By the test of the method applied the artificial data with 1000 types of the time fluctuating offset, the average value of the cross-correlation coefficient between the corrected data and the noiseless data was 0.985. Therefore, the method is effective for correcting the time fluctuating offset.
