Improving refraction travel-time tomography analysis: Case study of multi-scale multi-mode seismic data with dense receiver array

Abstract
Refraction Travel-Time tomography is effective method for acquiring velocity structure of subsurface because the method extracts different information from which reflection imaging extracts. Although it is already applied to many recently acquired "multi-scale, multi-mode" seismic data, which is combination of long offset refraction data and high density reflection data, some issues are still exist such as dependency to initial model, range of effective offset and picking difficulty of low S/N data. We investigated those issues to long-offset transition-zone real field data and improved the tomography result. The result was evaluated by comparing with existing seismic section and interpretation.
