Measurement of Gamma Radioactivity by Use of Bicycle in Koriyama-City, Fukushima Prefecture

Abstract
Natural radioactivity prospecting is one of popular geophysical prospective surveys. I did measure Gamma radioactivity in some parks of and sidewalks of Koriyama-city, Fukushima prefecture by use of a bicycle. I measured gamma radioactivity at 1 meter height by riding with the measuring instruments. I was used TCS-172 and TCS-172B of Hitachi-Aloka Medical's scintillation survey meters for Gamma. While measuring the amount of space radiation, position was recorded using the GPS every second. This survey found that the following : 1) Though only two years passed after the Fukushima Dai-ichi accident, I understood that many places indicating the radioactivity measurements that exceeded 1.2 muSv/hour existed in Koriyama-City. 2) The district that the value of the radioactivity decreased by decontamination work was confirmed, but it became clear that there were many districts indicating a still high value.
