Underground surveys in Iwaki city, Fukushima Prefecture -Very shallow seismic surveys at the Shionohira fault-

Abstract
Very shallow seismic surveys were applied to the Shionohira surface earthquake fault which was appeared at the 2011 April 11th Hamadori earthquake in Fukushima Prefecture. They are S wave refraction, S wave reflection, P wave refraction and Surface wave methods. Low S wave velocity zone (under 0.7km/s) is thick to the west of the surface earthquake fault and thin to the east. A strong reflector is recognized and it is considered as a boundary between sediments and basement rock. It is deep, flat and continuous to the west of the fault, shallow and uneven to the east and like steps near the fault.
