1-D inversion of MT method considering IP effect


Abstract
In order to detect subsurface IP effect, unconventional MT method was investigated. The Cole-Cole parameters, for example chargeability and time constant, were incorporated into resistivity of each 1-D layer. Forward and inversion programs for 1-D model of MT method considering IP effect were developed. As a result of numerical experiments using simulation data, it was found that Cole-Cole parameters can be calculated within a few percent of relative error by 1-D inversion program. Unconventional MT method considering IP effect will become an important method for mineral exploration same as conventional IP method.
