Seismic wavefield from the 3D seismic array data in the southeastern part of the Kyoto basin

Abstract
Second-higher mode of the Love wave is identified using the three-dimensional seismic array. Velocity structure model under the seismic array is estimated using the borehole spectra of the records. A vertical array analysis method to identify wave type is improved its robustness of the decomposed wave. The vertical array analysis of the record using the estimated structure model indicates that wave types of two phases of the NS component are neither S nor fundamental-mode of surface waves, although a simple S-wave pulse on the EW component is correctly identified. Phase velocities and propagating directions derived from the horizontal array records indicate that the first phase is a S wave and that the second phase is a second-higher mode of Love wave propagated from east of the array.
