Development of TEM data acquisition system for mineral exploration based on HTS-SQUID

Abstract
Japan Oil, Gas, and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) developed a new TEM measurement system based on HTS SQUID devices (SQUITEM 3). As the result of the test survey conducted on the IOCG deposit in Australia, TEM profiles and modeled resistivity images acquired by SQUITEM 3 shows a good correlation with the contents of iron and copper. It indicates that the zone of pyrrhotite-chalcopyrite mineralization could be detected by TEM survey using SQUITEM 3.
